Ronda
Rousey was supposed to be in Colombia filming a movie but she showed up at the
end of Royal Rumble. According to ESPN, she has signed a full-time deal with the
company. She appeared at the end of the Rumble in a Roddy Piper inspired T-shirt
and wearing one of Piper's leather jackets that she got from his son. As soon as
the show ended ESPN broke the news. She told ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne, "This is
my life now. First priority on my timeline for the next several years. This is
not a smash-and-grab; this is not a publicity stunt. When I first met with
Triple H, I told him, 'There are other things I can do with my time that'll make
way more money, but I won't enjoy nearly as much.'" Rousey did actually leave to
shoot a film called Mile 22 in Colombia but returned to the US on a private jet
and laid low all weekend. She didn’t have anyone with her and her husband Travis
Browne was at home with his sons who didn't even know their step mom was about
to be on TV. The WWE had to get clearance from Joan Jett's management in order
to use the song Bad Reputation. Her first match is going to be a tag team match
with the Rock (if he is allowed to wrestle and his schedule is open) against
Stephanie McMahon & Triple H. Rousey has been training at the WWE Performance
Center with Brian Kendrick for quite some time. |
