Marvel has an upcoming app called Create Your Own. The platform will let fans
write their own stories using Marvel’s characters but with a major set of
restrictions. The app will let you pick a character, set the backgrounds, add
dialogue and sound effects then lay the story out. Fans will not be able to draw
the stories but officially use Marvel characters. If you use the app then you
have to read the terms and conditions page which says what you can’t use. That
includes: no nudity, sexually explicit images, discriminatory language, graphic
violence (depending on the story) or libelous content. You are also not allowed
to use guns even though the Punisher is seen in the promotional art or allowed
to kill a character. Prescription drugs, over the counter medication, vitamins,
and dietary supplements are also on the banned list. The stories aren’t allowed
to scare or upset small children and using substitutes for curse words or double
entendres. So basically you can create your own stories but they will be boring
as hell or kid's stories. |
