Quentin Tarantino’s ninth film will be about the Manson Family
murders. Part of the story will center on Roman Polanski’s late wife Sharon Tate
who was murdered along with four others by Manson and his followers in 1969. The
film will show a male TV star who wants to get into the movies that year along
with his stunt double. Their story will connect with the murders. Multiple
actors have been rumored to star in the project such as Brad Pitt, Jennifer
Lawrence, Margot Robbie, Tom Cruise and Leonardo DiCaprio. The film will be
released on 8/9/2019, the 50th anniversary of the murders of Tate and her
friends. When the film was announced it was to be a Miramax film from Harvey and
Bob Weinstein but is now going to be released by Sony Pictures. The film will
have a budget of $93 million. Tarantino has final cut and total creative control
of the project. That’s not the only project he is connected to however since he
and JJ Abrams came up with an idea for an R-rated Star Trek film. Once the two
had the idea fleshed out Tarantino created a writers room of The Revenant’s Mark
L. Smith, Lindsey Beer, Drew Pearce and Megan Amram. Smith will write the film
and there is an outside chance Tarantino will direct it. |
