 Fox has announced that the fifth season of Gotham
will be its last. The final season will either run 13-episodes or more since the
choice is being left up to the producers. Season five will obviously adapt the
No Man’s Land arc in the comics since
Jeremiah (he can’t be called the Joker) detonated a series of bombs in the city
which have separated it into sections. The destruction of the city was part of a
plan by Ras Al Ghul and Jeremiah to push Bruce Wayne to his eventual identity as
Batman. Executive producer John Stephens says that the final season will
introduce new characters such as Scarface, the Ventriloquist, Mother, Orphan and
Lady Shiva. Cassandra Cain (aka Orphan) is the daughter of Lady Shiva, who could
an ally of Bruce Wayne and Jim Gordon. During the season we will see Jim Gordon
finally decide where the line if the law has to be to save and protect Gotham
especially in a city in which the law isn’t going to be so clearly defined. As
for Bruce the show will have him adapt and change identities depending on where
he is inside the city. And we saw Selina Kyle get shot and her recovery will
push her closer to becoming Catwoman. |
