 The Legion of Doom will haunt the Justice League in the first
arc of the relaunched series and beyond. The Legion was actually created in 1978
on the animated Challenge of the Super Friends but is now part of DCU
continuity. Membership includes: Lex Luthor, Sinestro, Cheetah, Gorilla Grodd,
Black Manta and the Joker. Scott Snyder decided to return Lex to villain status
during the No Justice by showing him deciding that being a hero was a waste of
time. As a new Injustice Gang is formed Lex decides to go one better and create
the Legion to take on the League. The League will eventually take on Barbatos,
learn more about the Dark Multiverse and the World Forge. There is a huge
Aquaman centric arc on the way also. The Joker’s part and reason for being on
the team will be explained over time as his role grows. In #3 we will see John
Stewart wearing an ultraviolet ring that taps into the emotional spectrum,
something Sinestro may have already known about for a long time. The Justice
League companion series Justice League Odyssey will bring L.E.G.I.O.N. back into
the DCU. And in other Snyder news he has hinted we may see the return of
Superboy Prime and will see Batman take on the Batman Who Laughs again. |
