Humanoids
hired John Cassaday and Mark Waid as executives then announced H1, a new shared
superhero universe. Creators involved include: Cassaday, Waid, Carla Speed
McNeil, Yanick Paquette, Phil Briones, Afua Richardson, Vanessa Del Rey, Dennis
Calero, Shawn Martinbrough, Jock, Mike McKone, Andrea Mutti, Darick Roberston
and Alberto Albuquerque. Humanoids had until this only done science fiction and
fantasy graphic novels but for their 20th Anniversary in America panel at New
York Comic Con, the publisher unveiled the new imprint. Humanoids’ new Chief
Creative Officer John Cassaday and Humanoids’ new Director of Creative
Development Mark Waid will work with the creators on the various series of the
imprint. H1 will begin in the summer with three ongoing series and a multiple
limited series. None of the series has creators listed but they include the
ongoing titles Ignited (as the world is plagued with natural disasters powered
individuals are appearing); Omni (about a doctor given higher brain functions so
she can find the truth behind the Ignited) and Strangelands (two strangers
forced to stay close to avoid the destruction of the planet). The limited series
include: The Big Country (a sheriff in Texas trying to find a serial killer);
Meyer (about Jewish mobster Meyer Lansky as he’s trying to organize his very
last con job) and Nicnevin and the Bloody Queen (as a modern-day druid commits a
series of murders his latest would-be victim turns out to be more than she
seems). |
