Ronda
Rousey is thinking about extending how long she wants her pro wrestling career
to be. She told ESPN, "I love this way more than I ever thought I would. We had
a set timeline set, and now we aren't so sure about it because I love it so
much. I guess that's the best thing that could've happened; that I would love it
so much it would be so hard to stop. I can see why people have a hard time
leaving this industry because it's such a joy to be a part of every day." The
set timeline was because Rousey, who is married to UFC fighter Travis Browne and
has two stepsons with him, wanted to start a family. She also told USA Today
what the most difficult aspect of pro wrestling has been for her: "I grew up
with apraxia, which is a motor speech disorder. I had years of speech therapy,
and I’ve always had problems slurring or mispronouncing my words. In the ring,
it’s so important that you speak so clearly and you’re easy to understand and
that you don’t falter at all, that it makes me more nervous and more likely to
actually mispronounce things. It’s been really great for me to be able to work
on it and overcome those fears that I’ve had since I was a little kid." |
