 After
the news broke that Black Lightning show runner and executive producer Salim Akil
was facing a lawsuit for multiple counts of domestic violence and breach of
contract, Warner Bros. Television is launching their own independent
investigation of the charges against Akil. Akil, who serves also serves as an
executive producer on the OWN series Love Is ____, is being sued by Amber Dixon
Brenner for multiple incidents of physical, emotional and sexual violence
allegedly committed over the past 10 years while they were engaged in an affair,
which ended last year. The suit also claims that he took ideas from her
screenplay and used them for projects with ABC and OWN without giving Brenner
credit or paying for using her work. |
