ONE Championship, formerly ONE Fighting
Championship, has made a deal with Turner Sports, according to ESPN"s Ariel
Helwani. ONE traded for former UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson and
signed both former UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez and UFC welterweight
prospect Sage Northcutt. The three year deal will include 24 shows per year to
air live on B/R Live, the Turner digital platform. It isn’t clear if they will
offer a season pass like UFC does, do shows on a pay per fight basis, or just
pay per show. Taped events will run on TNT and a reality show also in the plans.
The cost of the deal is still unclear. |
