Elite Wrestling was officially announced at the end of a recent Being the Elite
episode that ran on New Years Day. The second show, a sequel to All In will be
called Double or Nothing, which will take place at the MGM Grand Arena in Las
Vegas on 5/25. Their second show will take place in Jacksonville at a later date
and a large portion of the gate will go towards benefiting victims of gun
violence. The promotion is owned by the Jacksonville Jaguars’ Tony Khan. Cody
Rhodes will be the Executive Vice President of the promotion. His wife Brandi
will have an executive position with the company. Talent signed so far include:
Chris Jericho, the Young Bucks, Hangman Page, Kenny Omega, PAC (the former
Neville who also works for Dragon Gate), Joey Janela, Penelope Ford, MJF, CIMA,
El Lindaman, T-Hawk and Takehiro Yamamura. Men and women will receive equal pay
and according to Cody, wins and losses will mean something. Billy Gunn will be
working with the promotion as a producer. And with the announcement of AEW every
WWE wrestler rumored or not rumored to being up for contract renewal has been
linked to going to a promotion that doesn’t even have a TV deal yet. |
