DC
laid off seven employees as part of a restructuring designed to put a greater
focus on publishing. The company will reorganize into three areas focusing on
Editorial, Production & Manufacturing and the newly-formed Publishing Support
Services. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the layoffs include Senior Vice
President of Sales Trade Marketing John Cunningham, Vice President of Consumer
Marketing Eddie Scannell and Senior Vice President of Art Direction Mark
Chiarello. The layoffs will account for three percent of DC's workforce of 240
people. With the changes Editor-in-Chief Bob Harras will oversee Editorial;
Senior Vice President of Manufacturing & Operations Alison Gill remains in
charge of Production & Manufacturing; and Senior Vice President of Editorial
Strategy & Administration Hank Kanalz will handle sales, marketing and promotion
for Publishing Support Services under the title Senior Vice President Publishing
Strategy & Support Services. Warner Bros. Consumer Products will be restructured
as well with DC Collectibles moving under the control of the division and a
layoff of 10 percent of their staff. President of Warner Bros. Global Brands and
Experiences Pam Lifford is now in control of DC. |
