Netflix
has ordered to series an adaptation of Joe Hill’s Locke and Key…Rob Liefeld’s
comic Shrink is being adapted into a feature for Sony Pictures. The story will
tell of Dr. Jessica Powers, a strong, smart and intuitive psychiatrist who
attempts to help the mental problems of heroes who lead big, complicated lives.
And no I don’t remember the book either…Paramount has enlisted Transformers’
Akiva Goldsman to oversee a writers room tasked with adapting books from the
Atlas Comics library….Fox is developing an adaptation of Eric Powell’s The
Goon…Amazon Studios and Whip It’s Shauna Cross are teaming to develop Deadtown,
a TV series adaptation of the 2017 superhero novella The Refrigerator
Monologues. The novella followed five recently-dead women who meet in the
Purgatory known as Deadtown, where they realize their deaths were simply for the
service of the superhero men in their lives…the CW is developing a drama series
adaptation of Valiant’s Dr. Mirage with Reign co-creator Laurie McCarthy, DMG
Entertainment and CBS Television Studios producing.
