TV+ closed out the winter Television Critics Association with a few major
announcements about their upcoming program. The biggest news was the 3/6
premiere date of the reincarnated Amazing Stories from Steven Spielberg. On that
date the first five episodes will be released from the ten season order. Seen in
season one will be Dylan O’Brien, Josh Holloway and Robert Forster in his final
role. The mystery series Home Before Dark will have its season premiere on April
3rd. Brooklynn Prince, Jim Sturgess and Adrian Hough will star in the show
inspired by the real-life reporting of 9-year-old investigative journalist Hilde
Lysiak. The story will follow a young girl who moves from Brooklyn to the small
lakeside town her father left behind. While there, she will unearth a cold case
that everyone in town have tried hard to bury. The Chris Evans’ starring
Defending Jacob will debut on 4/24. Evnas will play the district attorney in a
small Massachusetts town. He will be joined by his Knives Out co-star Jaeden
Martell and Downton Abbey’s Michelle Dockery. The animated musical comedy series
Central Park, from Bob’s Burgers’ Loren Bouchard, will premiere in the summer.
The documentary series Home which premieres on 4/17 will focus on the world’s
most innovative homes. 6/5 will mark the debut of Dear…, which will profile
famous people like Oprah Winfrey and Spike Lee through letters written to them.
Apple also renewed Rob McElhenney and Charlie Day’s half-hour comedy Mythic
Quest: Raven’s Banquet for a second season before its 2/7 premiere date. The
show will follow a team of video game developers as they navigate the challenges
of running a popular video game. McElhenney, F. Murray Abraham and Danny Pudi
will co-star.
