Lionsgate has announced that there will not be a next film in the Divergent
series after the last one bombed at the box office. Instead the film series will
be wrapped up in a TV movie then be spun off into a TV series. CEO Jon
Feltheimer and TV Group Chair Kevin Beggs say the prospect has attracted a dozen
potential buyers. Miles Teller told reporters that he hasn’t been approached
about the TV movie and wasn’t sure if he wanted to be involved in it but
Shailene Woodley has already made it clear she isn’t interested in returning to
the franchise at all if its going to be on TV. |
