The end of Civil War II leads into a one-shot called Civil War II: The Oath that
will be written by Captain America’s Nick Spencer and drawn by COWL’s Rod Reis.
Fans already know that Steve Rogers isn’t the person he was because Kobik has
used her powers to rewrite history and made Steve a deep cover agent for Hydra.
Rogers will be assigned to the peace table set up to resolve all the differences
following Civil War and use the position to advance the master plan of the Red
Skull. The one-shot connects the story told in Civil War II and the Hail Hydra
story. The Oath serves as the launching point for some of the books not yet
revealed in the Marvel NOW teasers also. Spencer says the main characters in the
one-shot will be Carol Danvers, Tony Stark and Steve Rogers. When everything is
said and done at the end of the book there will be fundamental changes in
certain heroes in the Marvel Universe. The Oath will ship in January. |
