Before UFC 202 at the press conference prior to his fight with Nate Diaz there
was a bottle throwing incident between him and Conor McGregor. McGregor showed
up 30 minutes late and as the conference went on Diaz left the stage and gave
McGregor the finger. Diaz’s team then started throwing bottles at McGregor and
McGregor returned fire with water bottles and Monster Energy cans. Both fighters
were called in for a hearing by the NSAC (Diaz hasn’t appeared before them yet)
and the NSAC didn’t suspend McGregor but fined him $150,000, ordered him to do
50 hours of community service and reimburse them for its expenses. That sentence
according to UFC President Dana White has led McGregor to say he will never
fight in Nevada again. McGregor has also said that he isn’t going to pay the
fine. |
