TNT has planned on restarting the Tales from the Crypt franchise with M. Night Shyamalan but legal issues over the rights have slowed the show down. TNT
released the following statement: “The rights to this classic, vintage property
are complicated. TNT and others have been pursuing a solution for more than a
year, with significant progress being made. We look forward to the potential for
further active development of this valuable franchise once the clearance process
is fully resolved.” When all that is worked out the show will adapt some stories
from the original 1950s EC Comics and material from EC’s The Vault of Horror.
Shyamalan will direct some episodes which may star some major film actors since
the HBO show did. |
