Game
of Thrones season seven premieres this month. The shortened season is wrapped
and pre-production is currently underway for the final season of the HBO series.
UFC’s Conor McGregor is involved in one of the seasons; likely season eight
which was supposed to be a six episode season but may be longer than that.
Showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss haven’t even written those episodes yet
so HBO is sitting back and waiting with the hope they get a longer final season.
The upcoming season is supposedly larger in scale with a lot of major battles.
HBO will not be done with the world created by George RR Martin yet since the
company is considering five possible spin-off series. We had always heard there
were four possible shows but Martin says someone came in with an idea for a
fifth one that blew them all away. The original four ideas came from Mystic
River’s Brian Helgeland, Godzilla’s Max Borenstein, X-Men: First Class’ Jane
Goldman and The Leftovers’ Carly Wray. Martin Martin’s Dunk and Egg works will
not be one of the spin-offs. Whichever one HBO chooses will be executive
produced by Weiss and Benioff but they will not write any of them. |
