Conor McGregor’s coach John Kavanagh doesn’t expect that McGregor will fight
again this year. The timing is off because if he was going to fight he would
have to set up a training camp soon and that’s not happening. UFC President Dana
White has said that he thinks McGregor will defend his lightweight title by the
end of the year but he’s also said that once the money is figured out after the
Floyd Mayweather he may never fight again. Kavanagh says McGregor isn’t done and
has suggested a third Nate Diaz fight in the lightweight division has to happen.
He has no interest in fights against Tony Ferguson and Kevin Lee because he
doesn’t see either drawing money. If a third fight with Diaz is going to happen
Diaz’s boxing coach wants $20-$30 million for that fight but that’s never going
to happen. That’s what McGregor got for the Mayweather fight and Diaz has lost
his last two fights, the last one to McGregor. We could also see McGregor fight
Khabib Nurmagomedov or a rematch with UFC featherweight titleholder Max
Holloway. |
