BOOM! Studios’ Kong on the Planet of the Apes from Ryan Ferrier and Carlos Magno will have King Kong end up on the Planet of the Apes. The six-issue limited series will have Dr. Zaius and General Ursus return to the Forbidden Zone to destroy all evidence of human dominance and end up coming face to face with Kong. Their journey will of course take them to Skull Island. Ferrier was amazed that the encounter hadn’t happened yet and was eager to tell the story. He will say that we aren’t going to see any time travel in the story and that in the series Kong is actually part of a species of giant ape. It will be explained how this species ended up thousands of years into the future. Ferrier will show how the reactions of both species will set up the entire series.
