The movie that was going to wrap up
Deadwood for HBO has been rumored for damn near a decade and now it seems like
it’s going to happen. Show creator David Milch has turned in a script that HBO
loves and Ian McShane is more than ready to return. He says the second season of
American Gods isn’t going to start shooting until the end of this year/beginning
of the next so he has room on his schedule. And HBO has been asking former cast
members if they are willing to return. We are getting a third season of True
Detective which will star Luke Cage’s Mahershala Ali. He will investigate a
macabre crime in the heart of the Ozarks that will play out in three separate
time periods. The directors for the season will be creator Nic Pizzolatto and
Green Room’s Jeremy Saulnier. Since Pizzolatto is doing Detective he isn’t going
to be involved in HBO’s Perry Mason revival which will star Robert Downey Jr. In
other HBO news The Deuce has been renewed for season two, when writer/creator
Steven Zaillian is ready there will be another season of The Night Of, a
follow-up to Big Little Lies is planned, Alan Ball’s new untitled family drama
series is a mix of True Blood and Six Feet Under and all the scripts for the
final season of Game of Thrones are done with the episodes being storyboarded
out right now. HBO will film multiple endings of Thrones to throw off pirates. |
