DARABONT WANTS TO BE PAID Posted: 060417
In the ongoing dispute between The Walking Dead co-creator Frank Darabont and AMC we now know what he wants-over $280 million dollars. Darabont was the show runner on the series until he was fired in the middle of the second season. He is suing AMC because he believes that the network has robbed him of his 10% of the profits by making the series then licensing it to its cable network affiliate for less money. Doing so keeps the costs down but in doing so means creators get less money. He is also suing because the network claims that since they fired him he wasn’t entitled for full profits for season two. If the case goes to trial it won’t happen until 2018 and AMC is apt to settle with Darabont like they did with Tony Moore after he sued for not getting adequately compensated for co-creating the comic. In other Dead news Lights Out’s Maria Bello will join the series next season in some capacity.
